Harvest is poor

Dry weather in american plains will reduce size of wheat crop. US farmers are headed into a key harvest now. People are planting more acres. Still, we depend on the weather more. Right now  a major problem is soaring energy prices. This drives up expenses. Also, there are record high prices. It is not just wheat and corn. For example, there is a 32 year high for cocoa. And, there is a 31 year high for sugar. Food prices are rising. This means hard times for the poor.
